I have some good acquaintances from Peru living in Europe and they always keep telling me how beautiful country they have. As usual in such cases, my imagination is challenged and before I will go there to check with my own eyes, camera and pen, I do exhaustive research among specialists and companies operating in the area. This time, I stumbled upon my Facebook friends from Lima Discovery and asked them about what are their main packages and offers for this summer.
Till the first week of August, tourists from Latin America, Europe, America or Asia can book a 6-day tour that includes Peru for 3 days and Cuzco for the rest of the stay. The groups will be picked up from the airport and brought to the hotel. After a city tour of Lima, there it is free time to explore the city. On the fourth day, the transfer is made to the Lima airport from where one will fly to Cuzco. After the transfer to the hotel an excursion around the city is offered, followed by a lunch, included in the price. The city tour will take place in the area of the ruins, including a visit at the Temple of Koricancha. The tour lasts around 6 hours and also includes a panoramic view of Plaza de Armas, of the Cathedral, the visit at the Archaeological complex and other historical locations.
The fifth day is dedicated to a visit to Machu Picchu. After the breakfast, the tourists are transferred to the train station and brought to the Machu Picchu by train. The accommodation is made at a 3-star hotels in Lima and Cuzco, breakfast, some tourist transportation, guide and entrance fees. The package costs $999.
The guides are provided in English, French and Portuguese.
For European tourists, shorter tours are possible, for a cheaper price of $900, that includes 2 days in Lima and 3 days all inclusive in Cuzco, with breakfast, transfers, city tour in Lima, full day at Machu Pichu and accommodation at 3-star hotels.
